3 kids reported missing from Gurgaon school

Gurgaon News: THREE Class VII students of a private school in Gurgaon have been reported missing since Monday afternoon. According to police, the children—Prashant, Abhinav and Deepak—who study in Lady Fatima School in Sector 14, did not return home after school. The classes end at 1.30 pm. The police as well as parents of the children say the boys did not return home due to their poor quarterly exam results. While Abhinav and Prashant failed in the exams, Deepak barely managed to clear all the papers, said police.

The school authorities, however, said the boys would not have disappeared because of their poor quarterly results. Tahir Hussain, SHO, Civil Lines Police Station, said, “Although the school says their poor result is not the reason ...our investigations show there is no other reason for the boys to go missing.”

According to police, the school authorities did not know that the children were missing till the parents arrived at the school around 4 pm on Tuesday inquiring about them.

School authorities said the trio travelled to and from school in a private van and not in the school van, which ferried a couple of other children from their locality.

Police said that while the van dropped off the other children, the boys did not board the vehicle after school.

A case has been registered at the Civil Lines Police Station. “There is no possibility of kidnapping and we are sure in another day or so we will be able to trace the boys,” said SHO Hussain.

He added that the three boys, being friends, must have decided to “run away to escape their parents’ anger.” The parents refused to speak to the media.
